I didn’t get any writing done on Lasting Remains yesterday. And I won’t this morning, either. While it makes me twitchy, it’s for a good reason.

I’m yet again doing a re-read of Loving Remains – this is the 4th or 5th full re-read of the book (I have no idea who many times I’ve read individual sections or chapters). I’m just going through and correcting little mistakes and making small changes at this point. My goal was to start the publishing process by October 1st, and it was tempting to use last week’s re-read as the final one, but I had made some changes and wanted to make sure things looked good.

Well, last night I found a pretty significant mistake that has to do with the plot. It’s an easy fix (thankfully), but could have been the type of thing to pull a detail-oriented reader out of the story.

What’s my point? Don’t hurry through the editing process – it’s worth it to do it right.
